The graduate!

Sharlona will be a nursing graduate this fall!! To mark this significant time in her life, she chose to have professional portraits done and I’m so thrilled she called me! I can definitely see her with a career in nursing… she is one of the most gentle and caring people I have ever met, she’ll...

Baby Landon

Vance worked with baby Landon’s father. They used to be on the same police squad. So it was really special to be able to photograph Landon. In these pictures, he is 4-weeks-old which is actually older than I would prefer. The magic time for photographing newborns is 10 days – they’ve just lost their umbilical...

Baby Quinn

Can she be any cuter??…. Which is your favorite? I am partial to the leg rolls and pink tutu.

Isn’t she a doll? And she was so good, too. We started shooting early in the day to avoid the heat, but it just so happened it was boiling anyway. The heat made her a little fussy,...

The Wedding: Craig and Raquel

Since my girls are so young, this is the closest I’ll come to understanding a mother’s heart when a daughter marries for a long, long time. Raquael is like my oldest daughter. She lived with Vance and I during high school. I was there the day she graduated. She jokes that her sister Rachael and...

Weekly Photo Challenge – “Neon”

Neon, neon… I am surrounded by neon. Actually, despite living in Sin City I don’t see neon all that often. After you’ve been in Vegas awhile, the urge to be a part of the excitement on the strip is transformed into an even stronger urgency to hit the hills for the rest of your life! Alright, alright, so maybe that’s just me Oh, and...

Candlelighters “Race for our Kids”

On Saturday I volunteered for the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada. They held their 19th annual 5K and 1 Mile “Race For Our Kids” and I was honored to photograph the event for them. The race was awesome with so many fabulous individuals showing their support for this incredible organization. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the day....

Tumalo Falls

Besides treating myself to a photosafari in the Redwoods, I also did some shooting in Bend, Oregon. Here are a couple shots of Tumalo Falls.
My family and I enjoyed our time in Oregon. It was fun to be in an area where mountains, rivers (and all the fun activities that go with them) are so...

All about the Redwoods, part 2

Thanks for the input on the Redwood photographs! I loved reading your thoughts. Now here are a few of the “behind the scenes” images from our big adventure.
As I mentioned earlier, we traveled to the Bay Area for my sister-in-laws wedding, then headed north to camp in the redwoods and then again at Bend, Oregon....

Photo challenge – “Looking Down”

Alrighty, I think it’s time to end this summer hiatus! I know everyone has been crazy busy, myself included. Isn’t it uncanny how summertime destroys any sense of structure you had during the school year? Don’t tell anyone… but I love it and wish it would never end!!
Aw shucks, I guess it’s time to get...

All about the Redwoods, part 1

Here are us Millers, having an awesome time camping in California. Have I mentioned I love the outdoors? If I could spend every day exploring mountains/caves/forests etc, I would be in heaven. It so happens I married someone who feels the same way. Our family had quite the adventure – traveling to the bay area...
