Having given birth twice, I thought I was prepared for this… but as soon as Abrianna was born, holding back my tears was nearly impossible! If I wouldn’t have had my camera in hand, I’m sure I would have lost it :)

Randy and Jennifer, thank you for letting me document Abrianna’s birth for you. Congratulations again on your beautiful baby girl! Here is a slideshow including a few of my many favorites.

They’re so cute, happy, smiley and they love to kiss, lol!

Everytime I finish photographing an engaged couple I actually start treating my husband more like a fiance again, seriously… it’s great! Seeing two people madly in love is just refreshing. It has a way of reminding me of why and how I fell in love in the first place, and why I’m so lucky to still be married to my bestest friend! I love my job… have I ever said that before?!

Well Kris and Tom are absolutely adorable! Their relationship is fun-loving, devoted and simply rock solid. I loved photographing them. Tom constantly teases Kris, which is super entertaining to watch… but the huge smile he puts on her face everytime makes me suspect she secretly loves the attention ;) Simply adorable…

Congratulations again you two!! I am SOO excited to be photographing your wedding in Oregon this fall. Enjoy a few of my favs!

This shoot is something I had been wanting to do forever, but it never all quite came together… until now!!

So yeah, this is the most amazing bridal shoot I have ever done in my life. And yes I’m probably considered seriously biased, somewhat of a climber myself, but this was awesome!

Brittany was amazing… I was stoked that she was as excited about this as I was. After five years of being married, she actually pulled her dress out of it’s preservation bag just for this shoot! Thanx again for being so hard core Brittany! I had a blast :)

And just for fun, here’s a little bit of what Brittany had to say about the shoot:  

“That was SO fun!!!! I am so glad we did it! I am so happy that I now have pictures of me in my wedding dress that I LOVE!!!! Mindy is the best!”

For the first time ever, THEY were the ones who suggested climbing up the side of a small cliff for their family portraits!! Awesome, seriously awesome :) Oh, right… and dangerous….

So I’m usually the one coming up with crazy ideas like that… my husband constantly reminds me that ’normal’ people do not enjoy sitting on the edge of a 50 foot cliff to have their portraits taken. I can’t imagine why not? But apparently I’m the strange one… not with this family though!

During their shoot I learned that they love canyoneering and have gone on some fabulous adventures in Zion National Park, something I’ve been dying to do! And Nick… don’t forget that you invited me along for next year’s trek!! I am totally down! My camping gear and cameras are always packed, ready to roll :)

John and Meghan were an absolute blast to photograph. They were up for anything and totally silly… well, that was mostly John, hahaha. (pssst, John… don’t hate me for posting some of these pics, you are just too fabulous in them!). I can’t tell you how much I love when a bride and groom just let go and live it up for the camera :)

Oh… and I have to tell you how amazingly thoughtful and sweet Meghan is. After I finished photographing the fabulous couple up and down the Las Vegas Strip, Meghan handed me her bouquet. She told me she wanted my daughter to have it. How freaking awesome is she!! Seriously… I love my clients, such amazing people :)

And Meghan since you admitted you’re a blog stalker, I have to tell you that you made me look like the greatest mom ever again! When I got home both of my girls shreiked in delight at the sight of the gorgeous flowers especially for them. And then I spent the next 20 minutes taking the thing apart and recreating two individual bouquets… anything to prevent the arguing, lol. Thank you again :)

Little M. was sooo cute and she had the best outfits ever! One year olds are probably the most unpredictable age to photograph and I really LOVE the challenge! We made serious fools of ourselves (awesome job mom, by the way!), and came out with these incredible shots because of it. It’s so amazing to capture their little emerging personalities! I mean… could she be more adorable, really?!

We even had big brother there for a few shots which was awesome!

This shot… this shot makes me speechless. I love it so much! I giggle ever time I see it, and I don’t think there could ever be anything more precious. I love kids!

We had such a great time playing on the mountain trails in Red Rock Canyon, especially little A and I :) Mom was such a tropper! She is 8 months pregnant and still made the trek out there! But I swear, I didn’t make her go on a grueling hike or anything, honest!

Amanda’s aunt contacted me several weeks prior to her niece’s wedding, inquiring about wedding photography. She told me how truly wonderful Amanda was and how much she wanted her to have a professional photographer on her wedding day. After several conversations over the phone, she decided to book me for a couple of hours as a surprise wedding gift for Amanda.

Well the wedding was held last week and sure enough Amanda had no idea I was showing up. I could see her inquisitive face as I approached, the entire scene was ultra cuteness :)

As soon as her aunt introduced me, Amanda just broke into tears! I cannot express how amazing that moment was. I was truly humbled to be able to document their day and keep their memories and emotions alive forever. Once again I realize that I can never express how rewarding photography is in my life… I am truly blessed :)

I have lots of families scheduled this month… which means that I really have to stay on top of everything.

I think everyone had a great time at this last session. Atleast I did!! It was a gorgeous day, a beautiful family and lots of smiles :) I love taking the time to photograph families while they play… ok, well maybe I stage the playing a little bit, but it’s still playing!

These guys were troopers and went along with my crazy ideas. Everything from tossing the kids in the air to playing in the leaves… which turned into a full out leaf war! I love the very last shot, where their littlest guy is threating to bomb the entire family with his arsenal of leaves. Priceless!!

There were so many cute shots to choose from, so don’t be suprised if I post a few more from this family session later. They’re just too fun not to!

Big thanx to mom and dad for bringing their princesses to the mountains all dolled up. I absolutely love taking portraits in places they don’t belong… and two little girls hiking in their fancy dresses through Red Rock Canyon definitely fits into that category. Love it!!

I am dying to go back for another shoot! We woke up super early to catch the ever-so-incredible sunrise and it was so worth it. Baby Claire was such a trooper, putting up with me for WAY longer than any baby should have to ;) After she rubbed her eyes for probably the 50th time, I finally gave in and figured I should let the poor baby girl sleep. But she was just so stinkin’ adorable… who wouldn’t want to photograph her forever!?

I think I may have had even more fun than the year before… but that’s probably because some of the coolest people EVER joined Vance and I for this year’s adventure ;)

Last year there was a destructive flood, so bad that it completely destroyed one of my favorite waterfalls (Navajo Falls). I was seriously bummed to hear the sad news but also curious to see the two new falls that were created by the flood.

Well… while I still miss the serene beauty of Navajo Falls, I was deliriously happy when I realized one of the new waterfalls offers probably the most amazing cliff jumping of all time. You can actually walk behind the wall of water pouring over from the cliffs above.  And to top it off, you can jump right into the falls and swim in the turquoise blue water below! Now tell me… is there anything cooler than that?! We had a blast hanging out there, jumping off the top and through the waterfall. So freakin’ fun!! 

Vance created this epic video to document this year’s adventure… I’m starting to get hooked on this. Video is pretty awesome! Enjoy ;)
