Ten days ago was a typical trash day like any other, or so I thought. That afternoon I mosied on down the street to retrieve our personal trash can. To my horror, it was nowhere to be found.
But why?! My trash can has always been there for me. I have toddlers and pull-ups galore! We seriously need that thing!
Two more trash days passed and our can… still missing. But I’m stubborn. Even after being forced to carry plastic bags to the street corner, I refused to purchase a new can. I was holding out for MY can… I mean we have history. Truth is I just didn’t want to shell out another $100 bucks for a stupid can![]()
But today… today was a memorable day. Today I learned that we have new neighbors. Today I found my beloved trash can, albeit with a hideous makeover!
Turns out our lovely and quite brilliant new neighbors stole our trash can. And no, I’m not kidding! They must have figured if they layed low for awhile and tagged the dirty thing to death, we’d never realize it was ours? I do have to give them kudos… they really went all out.
The best part of this scenario is the fact that my husband is a cop, and he really loves his job. How can someone be that unlucky and stupid all at once, right!? First you steal a trash can… not just any can, but your neighbor’s can who ironically turns out to be a cop. Then you’re actually dumb enough to TAG it with your address and a few ‘krew’ signs! It’s just hysterical… totally reminds me of that ‘stupid criminals’ show, lol.
Fortunately it looks like everything will return to normal in the Miller household and tomorrow we should see the return of our trusty can. My husband did have a fabulous time confronting our poor neighbors, although I believe he was dissapointed how smoothly it went. In the end he offered to let them off the hook if they returned our can, cleaned up of course. They sheepishly accepted his offer![]()
