Thanks for the input on the Redwood photographs! I loved reading your thoughts. Now here are a few of the “behind the scenes” images from our big adventure.
As I mentioned earlier, we traveled to the Bay Area for my sister-in-laws wedding, then headed north to camp in the redwoods and then again at Bend, Oregon. All together – it was nine days of camping fun.
We swam in rivers, played hard, hiked, sang around the campfire and ate lots of marshmallows. One of my favorite activities was playing pretend in the woods with our girls. Once we were away from the campsite, we were in fairy land.

Vance is the mastermind of pretend – it makes me feel like I’m a kid again. We would hide behind trees and look for fairies. Every piece of bark or rock became a piece of buried treasure. Kelsey filled her pockets with pebbles, plants and bark.

We also had a blast singing around the camp fire. We sang a few traditional songs ‘Going on a Bear Hunt” being a favorite. But then we had a few Miller family originals. Vance would make up a tune and Kelsey would make up lyrics. Usually, they were about our trip.

Sitting around the campfire, we went through a lot of marshmallows. Vance made the girls cook their own food. Even Whitney, our 2 year old, had kitchen duty. They were both such troopers. I can’t wait for our next camping adventure. (59cmqetgry)
